BEOR
Biosurfactant enhanced oil Recovery
Biosurfactant Enhance Oil Recovery (BEOR) is an EOR technique designed to boost production of low-yield wells. BEOR is a solution of biosurfactant, stabilizer and water.
BEOR is extremely effective in increasing production in high water-cut, low production wells. Initial production increase of 200-400% is very common, along with an initial water-cut decrease of about 20-40%.
BEOR Mechanism
After long term sustained production, paraffin waxes and asphaltenes precipitate and crystallize in the wellbore, causing the well to become plugged.
BEOR peels off the crystal deposits and unplugs the wellbore.
BEOR changes the wettability of the reservoir rock. Oil-wet rock becomes water-wet and thus releases more trapped oil out from the pores.
